Happy New Year!! 2018!!!! Even though January can at times feel a little bleak and boring, I do love the newness and expectation of whats to come. It’s a new year; a new start. A fresh page to a new chapter. Sure, we can always just start over at any point in the year, but there’s something about day one, month one of the new year.
I came up with some resolutions/goals for myself for 2018. I may come up with more as time goes on but I spent some time by myself yesterday and came up with these.
- Lose 20 pounds – theres a number I’d like to see on the scale. However, if my body looks the way I’d like and it doesn’t read a 20 pound loss that’s okay!
- Do a push-up! – I can do modified ones aka “girl push-ups” but not a regular one. Before this year is over I want to be able to do with I want to be able to do at least one
- Exercise at least 3x a week
- Read my Bible every day. – right now I’m going through the book of Matthew and using the She Reads Truth app
- Eat better. Feel healthy. Be healthy
- Be a better mom. Cuddle more, yell less. Put down the phone more
What are your goals for 2018?
Happy Monday, everyone! Christmas is ONE WEEK from today!! Here’s a little quiz/game/something random for you today. 🙂 Can you figure out the brand of each of these bags just by looking at them? How about the prices? Before you click on them, try to […]
On Sunday, my husband and I took our son, Liam, to comic Con here on Long Island! It was the first comic con for Liam and I. The event was held at the Nassau Coliseum in Hempstead. It went on for 3 days, but we purchased tickets for Sunday only.
Some of the actors from The Justice League movie were there on Sunday, including, Henry Cavill (Superman), Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), Jason Momoa (Aquaman), and Ray Fisher (Cyborg). We got to take a group photo with Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot. My son was very excited to meet Superman! At 4 years old, he loves all things superheroes, so he was a bit starstruck to say the least. However, he did muster up the courage to go up to Henry Cavill and open up his button down shirt to reveal his Superman shirt underneath! Henry Cavill made a big deal about Liam’s “big reveal” and was super sweet to him. It made me really happy to see their interaction. Henry Cavill then took his own hands and opened up the button down shirt to reveal the Superman shirt for our group photo. Here’s a picture of my son with Henry. Our son doesn’t always like to smile for photos, but we didn’t even have to ask for this one! Oh, and the matching shirts make this photo that much better. Total coincidence. (get your very own here 😏)
If you follow me on Instagram you saw that my family went to Walt Disney World at the end of October. It was a surprise birthday trip for me actually. My husband really made my birthday extra special this year to say the least. He did tell me about it beforehand but the kids didn’t figure it out until we were there!
He booked the All Star Movies resort for our stay. It’s one of their more affordable options. In the past we’ve stayed at the Caribbean Beach resort and had a good stay. The All Star Movies was good for our long weekend trip. We didn’t spend much time at the resort so it didn’t matter that it wasn’t high end. The room accommodations were average but comfortable and clean. The pools looked really nice. Sadly, we didn’t have time to enjoy them. When we thought we would, the weather ended up being real cold actually. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Honestly, I don’t have real complaints about the resort. I do think Disney charges more for their resorts since they are on Disney property and they offer extra perks.
We were in Disney for 4 days, 3 nights and decided to go to Animal Kingdom the first day, Magic Kingdom for the next 2 and Epcot on the last day. It was a whirlwind trip and I truly loved it! I’ve gone to Disney several times and this was the best trip so far. There’s something extra magical about it when you see joy through the eyes of your children.
I’ll be sharing more about each park in upcoming blog posts.
